Um, the authors didn't even get paid for the placement? Do they know how product placement works? Why on EARTH would you do that if not receiving a check? Although, technically, I do agree with your "gross" comment, but I seem to be more bothered by authors who sell out but who are too dumb, evidently, to get money for the sellin'. Have you seen the galley of this book? Is it any good otherwise?

Well, the company is pushing the book heavily on their website, so it amounts to free advertising for changing the brand of lipstick mentioned in the book.

That kind of thing works -- you wouldn't believe the number of hits I get from people searching for "Glossip Girl" lipgloss -- a product that doesn't even exist, but that is mentioned over and over again in The Clique books.

Ick.

i spent weeks searching 4 that line off lip gloss & i was kind of PO-ed 2 find out it doesn't EXIST! the flavors seemd so good,2. lisi harrison could have used a real brand!

I totally think Lisi Harrison should make a lip gloss line called Glossip Girl. I was just looking for it when I found this, since I just read 'Invasion of the Boy Snatchers' last night. I'm thinking about writing her a letter/e-mail suggesting it, since she could make tons of money off it, because it looks like many people were disappointed that it didn't exist.

i agree that she should make the line, but i find it perfectly normal that she made it up. it wasnt that there was a present of loreal lip gloss. it was a special brand that would get delivered to massies doorstep everyday. aah-bviosly, it is a special product. so stop complaining. if you are so discusted, why dont YOU write a book that used a real product.

i think julia is right, i mean come on, lets be reasonable, glossip girl would be cool, but if she said (lets go with julias) loreal did this delivery thing, the company would not be happy, because the company doesnt do that.

I think it would be a great idea if Glossip Girl could be a real lip gloss product that could be delevered to your house 2 or 3 times a week and you could have a subscription to it like you have to a magizine. I think it would be a great idea for girls that are inspired by the cliqe book and it would be a great money maker. So lisi harrison if you are reading this take it into consederation Pease i Would just love that.
