Kaitlin Burke is one of Hollywood's Teen Queens. She plays the most beloved character on one of the most popular nighttime soaps on television (think an updated version of Dynasty, complete with ladies in evening gowns having catfights), she's been in quite a few well-received movies and her name has been linked to some of the hottest actors in Hollywood.
But, as great as that all sounds, she's got problems, too. She's being plagued by nasty tabloid rumors that she suspects are being spread by Sky Mackenzie, the actress who plays her sister. Her family is applying too much pressure: Her mother never gives her a break, wanting Kaitlin's career to reach greater and greater heights; her father wants to become a movie producer and is constantly angling for Kaitlin to make contacts for him; her brother wants to be an actor and throws tantrums when Kaitlin can't get him parts.
She's exhausted and burned out, and all she really wants to do is take some time off while A Family Affair is on its regularly scheduled hiatus. She wants to spend some time with her non-celeb best friend (who, being the daughter of an entertainment lawyer, understands the biz) and just BE NORMAL.
According to her family and her publicist, her career won't survive a vacation.
So she comes up with a plan: For the few months of hiatus, she'll lead a double life. By day, she'll go to high school in disguise as mousy Rachel Rogers, and by night, she'll continue to Be Kaitlin Burke, going to premieres, interviews and parties. (No, I'm not sure how that's supposed to be restful, either. Just suspend your disbelief, please. Thank you.)
References to Hollywood stars abound, and Kaitlin lets the reader in on lots of HOLLYWOOD SECRETS. (#1: Movie stars don't always get along.) A romance, a stolen Sidekick and the Big Dance figure in.
Brand names are sprinkled throughout, but not as heavily as in the Clique or GG books. A definite pick for the girls who are waiting for the next in their fave rich-girl series.

I LOVE this book i have NEVER read one as good as this. I think it would make a great movie, and a sequel, for sure!

Omg. This is THE best book I EVER read! LOVE the ending! Anyhoo, they should DEFINITLY make a movie. Or at least a sequel!

omggg this book was amazing it was like amazing. AMAZING MUCH? okay i'm over that but it was totally realistic and had a cute ending. god austin sounds so hot. the second but was even better with madison and the untitledd hutch adams project...sorry can't remember the name! omg so amazing. i need the third and i do not want to wait until next spring i need it now.

oaky, i admit, it was agreat book! i only got it because i was going through some kind of hollywood phase. but it really was a great book. jen calonita really made kaitlin sound cool, simple, real, and just so down to earth and normal. unlike the clique, secrets of my hollywood life really tells a good story with out stuck-up, annoying, obnoxiously spoiled rich girls being the main theme. damn, i hate that boook! (the clique, not secrets, yay!)anyway, this book would be great as a movie. maybe not the BEST BOOK EVER; but still fanastic. over all, secrets is one of my favorite books, and i give it 5 stars. Thank you!

There is a Sequel to the book if anyone was wondering... i dont know what its called but i was in the book store and saw it. Hardcover in White i think its called "Secrets of my Hollywood life (on Destionation?)" I'm not positive but thats all i know~

i adore this book soo much!i have been looking everywhere for the next book! omg i haven't loved a book this much sence barney. i love that kaitlin is so down to earth and seems so normal. it shows that even famous people are normal people and i love that so much! rock on jen and i hope for many more!! :)

this book is so cool! i love the first book and i cant wait to read the next ones. it would make such a great movie and i would totally see it! kaitlin is like a part time normal person and part time famous person! i love her so much!i also love that sky is so mean and catty, which portrays how people really are when they think that they are better than others. which is common in hollywood! this book is amazing and if u love this book, i recomend the Clique series too. i hope for many more in the series! kisses!!

this book is so so so so so so so so so so so so so super duper uber cool! i love it uber duber much and i wish that kaitlin burke and the Family Affair show was real because it is something that i would watch and she would be my new favorite celebrity. but i still love the first book, which is the only one i read, and i am waiting for the next ones and i really want this to become a movie. i swear that i am an addict! there is just so many things about it that i love, there is way to many to say!! i love that kaitlin seems like such a normal person and so sweet and so like me. i love that sky is so mean which shows how real hollywood people are and what they will really do, but i haven't heard of anyone stealing any Sidekicks, yay!!. i love that austin seems so cute and romantic and nice. i love the clothes they wear and everything about the book. it so real and so hollywood-ish! j'adore!

i really like this book!! ur right, it has some brand names but its not like all brand names like in the clique. dont think i didnt like the clique books they just revolve around what the girls are wearing, their lip gloss flavors, and staying popular...

OMG!!
