Wow - thank you very much (someone just linked me to this review). I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I hope you like the rest of the series, too. And -- real quick, since I'm at work and must be brief -- I just had to giggle a little at the Session 9 reference. I first saw that movie back in the day, because everybody and his brother told me I needed to watch it since it was JUST LIKE PINE BREEZE.

I don't know if you read the author's notes or anything, but I used to go poking around PB all the time before it was torn down, and yes, Session 9 was pretty darned close :)

I knew you would love it - that Southern Gothic stuff gets me every time. The sequel (as I wrote on my site) is very different -it's a lot of Eden feeling her way in this new life she's got and coming to terms with it.

But it has another asylum and Civil War ghosts - so your Southern Gothic requirements are totally checked!
