From Bookheads.org.uk:
Theresa Breslin, The Medici Seal
Kate Cann, Leaving Poppy
Mal Peet, The Penalty
Philip Reeve, Here Lies Arthur
Meg Rosoff, Just in Case
Marcus Sedgwick, My Swordhand is Singing
Of the six, I've only read the Rosoff. After reading the short write-up in the Guardian, I definitely want to pick up Leaving Poppy ('cause, you know -- "teen gothic") and Here Lies Arthur. I'm kind of scared of The Penalty.

Sedgwick contributed a great short story to the recent RESTLESS DEAD anthology edited by Deborah Noyes. I'm interested in giving his novels a try.

How was JUST IN CASE? As good as HOW I LIVE NOW? It didn't look as appealing. Do you recommend it?

I do recommend it, though it's very, very different from How I Live Now. I've seen it compared to Catcher in the Rye, which I think is fair (though it's very different from Catcher, as well.)
From what I've seen online, responses to it have been pretty varied, though. Give it a shot and let me know what you think.

I just placed a hold on it from the library. (I live on the gracious goodness of the NYPL system.) I'll keep you posted.
