Team Jacob!

I haven't even read Eclipse yet! I have Twilight burnout because I read the book before it was popular, made everyone I know read it and then, when it took over the world, decided it was all too much.

But my kiddies keep pestering me to read it and even my Grandma has read Eclipse. So it's my goal for February.

If the books keep following their good- all right- terrible pattern, we could expect one of two things: 1) it will be unreadable, or 2) the cycle will start over and it will be decent. I'm going with # 1, myself.

After Eclipse made me physically ill, I put in writing that I might not ever read a book by Meyer again if she was going to continue writing anti-woman screeds. BUT of course I probably will, if only for the context to write Edward/Jacob fanfic with my friends. >.>

Heh.
We ALL have problems. Like the Harry Potter thing, I probably won't rush right out and read it. But... I will. Probably. Just like I'll eventually read the 7th Potter...

Gail

Please, don't get me started on Eclipse again.

Rebekah Ruth

Well. Yes.

The books. Are terrible. And yet. Teeny bopper romantics can't stop reading them. And groveling after the pathetic hotness that is supposedly Edward. And composing ineloquent fragments on blog posts.

I have the same issue. Essentially. I read them. And, though I knew in the back of my mind that they weren't worth anything, I was addicted. 99.9% (oh, so painfully cliche!) sure that Stephanie Meyer has some pretty sweet connections in the drugs and media market. Otherwise, people would realize that she has no creativity and no ability to write.

Although, I wouldn't mind seeing some Edward/Jacob slash. It would be a nice change.

I hear you! When I was reading Eclipse I kept asking myself why it was that I couldn't stop reading despite the fact that there were points when I wanted to tear my hair out. I am betting Breaking Dawn will be the same.

i hate emo kids

every time bella says an effing word about edward i want to kick him in the teeth. she's BORING.

sparkling vampyrism is ludicrous.

i hope they all die in the fourth one. and i've not even read the second and third.

Leo

I do not think these books are anit-woman. Bella is very independent, and her own person. She is not hanging all over Edward, she loves him. You make her sound like a pathetic girl, which she is not. It may seem that way after reading New Moon, but really it is not that at all. Ok, so Eclipse really lacked some action, but it was more about Bella and Edward, and Jacob the moron. Like i said i personally love these books, which is ironic because before i read them, I thought they looked really weird. And Edward is not supposedly hot. He is hot. Girls who fall in love are weak, or anti-women. Bell and Edward's love is strong, not pathetic. I think that is what is so addicting about theses books, I keep reading them over and over, I can't stop reading them, and could not put them down the first time.

Em

I can't wait for Breaking Dawn either. I started the series late...only read them this December. I like all the characters, don't have a problem with Bella...but I do wish that she hadn't decided she loved Jacob too. That's just too much. Hopefully Jacob will imprint on someone else.
