New Puffin Classics.

Well, new covers and introductions, anyway -- the books themselves, of course, are classics.

You can read some of the new intros over at the Telegraph:  Melvin Burgess wrote about Call of the Wild, Meg Rosoff wrote about Black Beauty, Eoin Colfer wrote about Treasure Island and Jonathan Stroud wrote about Just So Stories.

I'm a huge sucker for nice, new clean copies, not to mention matching sets.  I want 'em.

I like some of the author combinations: Garth Nix/Oliver Twist, Louise Rennison/Little Women. When I was in Canada recently my eye was caught by new editions of Bloomsbury Classics (see here: http://www.bloomsbury.com/childrens/microsite.asp?id=1243&section=3) with "Why You Should Read This" introductions. I was very pleased to see Celia Rees/Jane Eyre and Meg Cabot/Pride and Prejudice.
(Vancouver Kidsbooks, where I saw these, is one of the best children's/YA bookstores anywhere, by the way.)
