Which could work very well.
I'm feeling a bit more optimistic.
[Later: Hmmm. While I love the scenery, the make-up might be a bit too much for me.]

The scenery is cool, but the makeup does look kind of overdone, and a young, sexy White Queen just seems weird.
I'm also a little iffy about casting an adult as Alice -- Alice's reactions to events in the books are sort of dependent on how young and childlike she is, and I can't see that working so well with a grownup Alice. Sort of the same way I feel about Judy Garland in The Wizard of Oz.

I'm still trying to come to terms with Anne Hathaway as the White Queen.

From what little news I've seen it's not a direct translation (gee, big surprise from Burton) but will "apparently pick up ten years later with Alice, now 17 years old, escaping a ritzy party and following a white rabbit down a hole, which brings her back to Wonderland". So Alice is adult for a reason.

Tell me they aren't billing this as a children's movie. Please.

Ah, well... that bothers me considerably less than what I'd assumed they were doing, actually. Thanks for the link!

Well, Johnny Depp is a bit much for me, with or without make-up. And I used to looove him.

Is there a role Johnny Depp won't take? Is there anything he won't do? Ah well, give the guy credit for seemingly showing no fear in the roles he takes or what he has to do to get them.
