Michael Bay is already ready to shoot the film version of the unsold book? In that case I'll pass. This is me, vomiting.
I don't mind "adult" authors taking up writing YA, but must they do it with "collaborators?" If James Frey wants to jump in the genre, shouldn't HE do it, rather than handing an idea to another YA "colaborator" so that person can presumably do most, if not all, of the work?
Between this and Lauren Conrad getting a three book deal (ghost-written by someone else, no doubt) the state of the YA industry makes me sad.

Gaaaaaaaaaaaah!
I can't even come up with something funny and/or snide about this. I am guessing that his publicist isn't thinking this is a good move, which is why he submitted it anonymously - or maybe he thinks people who buy books for teens would be less well-disposed to buying from someone who's a known liar? I can't wait to see with whom he's collaborated... and I hope he makes it really, really, really worth their while.
