Stephenie Meyer's The Host (still haven't read it) and Melissa Marr's Wicked Lovely (ADORE).
Film world lingo is as impossible to understand as cricket vocabulary. What is a "U-based shingle"?
And no fair looking it up.

Well, if a u-shaped shingle is literal, I'd think it was that thing on top of Spanish-influenced roofs. You know, the red tile ones they put on stucco houses?

Yeah, I looked it up. Its a shingle is a smaller production company that works under a bigger umbrella company. The term shingle probably comes from something like "hanging your shingle" aka putting your wooden sign outside your shop. U-based means Universal Films. So a U-based shingle is a smaller production company housed by Universal films.
And yes, that is just as bad as cricket

Katie K: Thank you. And I'm glad that you also think it's not exactly obvious.
Elizabeth: As long as he isn't played by a black-nail-polish-wearing Zac Efron.

Even if you don't like Twilight, I definitely recommend the Host. It's totally different from Twilight, and possibly even better (since I like Twilight-wayyyy before the hype). It's a really intriguing book and nothing at all like her other series.
But I am very wary of the movie. I really didn't want this to be made into a movie, especially if it turns out like the Twilight movies-bad movie and a rediculous fan base of wanna-be's.
