In a survey that brought in 70,000 votes, Snape is voted fave HP character.
I'm horrified that Neville is so far down, though.

Remus didn't make it into the top ten? Noooo say it ain't so Remus is clearly the best character ever and I am going to marry him the end.
I'm pleased that Luna and Hermione are so high up. Snape, eh. He's the best written and most interesting character, without a doubt, but he's not my favourite just because he's such a dreadful person. I hate Harry, Ginny is dull, Dumbledore is manipulative and annoying. Ron's nice enough. I like Sirius, I hate Malfoy, and of course Dobby is wonderful.

Weird. Book Snape is up there with book Potter and book Ron as my least favorites. I find the film versions of most of these characters more likeable. Luna, Hermione, Remus, Hagrid, Mr. Weasley, all faves.

How did I forget Neville? He's right up there with Remus as my favorite.

I love the movies way more than the books. Gasp! And I heart Neville.

I'm amused that there's such a gap between Fred and George. Really? Is it possible to consider them separately? Probably POLITER to consider them separately if they were real people, but....
Neville would have been much higher up on my list, too. I love that Luna is as popular as she is, though.
