From the CBC:
Russian-flavoured historical fantasy Plain Kate has won the $25,000 TD Canadian Children’s Literature Award.
Please don't tell me you haven't read Plain Kate yet.
Better yet, DO. Then I'll know exactly who to harass.

Congratulations indeed--what a fantastic book. A tough book to read, but very, very good. I picked it up because you talked it up so much, actually. It was right after a good friend passed away, so the whole end part with Taggle was pretty hard, but it's such a great story.
