The Hollywood Reporter reports (<--Heh.) that ABC is developing a Huck Finn/Tom Sawyer reboot described as "an adventure-themed reinvention that revolves around the two famed literary characters who re-meet as young men in their 20s and form an investigative firm in a bustling and steampunk New Orleans".
If done well, it could be loads of fun.
If not, well, we can just mock it.

I think the idea would have more promise if it weren't a literary reboot.

One wonders if anyone involved in this project has ever heard of--or better yet read--Tom Sawyer, Detective.

Here's hoping that this turns out to be as fun as it sounds. I don't watch a lot of tv, but this sounds promising. ABC tends to put out better material than the other main networks (maybe I'm just biased, since I love Castle so much), so if anyone can make it work, it's them.
