I dunno. TWIN PEAKS was so ahead of its time. It paved the way for a lot of what we're seeing on TV today (i.e. AMERICAN HORROR STORY). It could be considered tame by contemporary standards. Unless Lynch has a completely wacko idea to make a revamp/reboot as revolutionary as it was in 1991. And, actually, the idea of that scares me beyond my ability to form words. Ten years ago, I would have clamored for a TV movie to tie up the show's loose ends. Now? I'm skeptical.

I TOTALLY called it that you'd be the first to comment on this. :D

Anyway, I don't know if I think it would be GOOD. But as it makes me happy to even just see the actors together again (like in People Under the Stairs or the awesome Psych episode), I'd totally watch whatever Lynch came up with.

Is it my predictability or love of TP that pleases you more? ;-) I'd actually be down with TWIN PEAKS: THE NEXT GENERATION and an all new cast with cameos from the original. But, again, how to keep it fresh and as cutting edge as it was back then when most of today's show's out-TWIN PEAKS the original?

Leila

I don't know! But we watched the last of the Peter Davison DW eps last night (Josh hasn't seen a lot of the old ones), and I thought of you. (Also, MAN, Peri is irritating.)

Anyway, TP: Next Gen would PROBABLY be fine with me, as long as the original cast showed up here and there. As for the cutting-edgeness of it, I think I have a hard time separating the visceral feelings I had when I watched it way back when -- I still can't watch The Maddie Scene without getting squicked out, way more than anything I've seen (so far) on American Horror Story. And I feel like it's really rare for anyone but Lynch to create that Lynch FEEL. I dunno, though. I totally take your point, because a charmless-milquetoast feel WOULD BE THE WORST.
