Re: the brutal #3. The way to get Vaseline out of hair? Mineral oil and baking soda. And several days.
Having never heard of a hot oil treatment, I told my friends I had been babysitting a kid who wanted to style my hair and she accidentally used Vaseline instead of mousse.
But yeah. In every other respect, that story is my story.

I am so, so sorry. And I am also so, so thankful that my mother went the medicated shampoo route when I got head lice in elementary school. Holy cow, SO THANKFUL.
