Shannon Hale's sequel to Princess Academy, Palace of Stone, is $2.99 today.
As I haven't read that one yet, I TOTALLY BOUGHT IT. YAY!
(I very much prefer the original cover art on the first book, though. Just saying.)

Hooray! I totally bought it too! And while I'm excited... I am still starting to question the tactics of Shannon Hale's publisher. I got the Kindle edition of Midnight in Austenland for $3.99 a while back and I think it even went to $1.99 at one point... and both of these books of hers are out in hardcover. It's not even $2.99 competing with a paperback... and I doubt most people who get the ebook are then going to go buy the print copy as well. So how is this benefiting them? Are they just figuring quantity of sales will make up the difference?

Maybe it's about upping the fanbase? Or creating buzz by having a one-day sale? I don't know...

I can see that... goodness knows I tell everyone on FB when they do one of those sales. Hopefully I've made some Shannon Hale converts!
