Awesome! I love both her and Roger Sutton's point about what's "acceptable" for books with characters of color - earnest, historical fiction. I'd add that if it's contemporary then ghetto/drugs have to be involved. That's one of the reason I loved Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secret of the Universe so much is that if featured Mexican-Americans who were middle to upper-middle class with professional parents (well that and the beautiful writing and story).
