Ooh, this was a good read! I think that this perspective was the one missing from the book Americus. Did you read that one? A graphic novel about a fantasy book that had some of the community members all riled up. It was obviously about Harry Potter to me. But I was bummed that it was so black and white! There was no parent who was like, "well, I don't like the book but I respect you/your right to read it."
