I bought this at our annual book sale and just devoured it! To my great shame, I saw the movie before reading the book, and was not charmed by the movie. The book, the book was ever so charming. Drew me right in and handed me a cup of tea and wouldn't let me leave. I'll definitely reread this as a comfort novel.

This is one of those books that I hand to patrons left and right... (Only the right sort of patron, of course--I love it so much that I couldn't bear someone coming back and telling me that thye didn't like it.)

After your review, I think that I'll continue to give the movie version a miss.

A book to live in. A reminder too that relationships are complicated and do not respond to neat solutions. Love is not something you can plan so if you have it - be amazed!
