when I was in high school, I loved Nine Tomorrows. I am not sure why. But I would frequently check it out from the town library. Ah, Timmy.

That's WEIRD (about Circus of the Damned). When I started reading the series, forever ago, I couldn't find that one either. I ended up skipping it and going on to book 4. All I can say about that is DON'T DO THAT! I had no idea what was going on, who the new charaters were, what the heck was going on with Anita's new powers. It was bad. I never read stuff out of order, and I never had before, but the addiction with that series is just so strong it overrides good sense.
Are you sure he thought you were shoplifting and just didn't think you were cute and was being too shy to say anything?

I LOVE the City of Ember! While the writing is not the best, I find the storyline and characters very intriguing. I read it aloud to my fifth grade class, and they loved it so much I had to go out and by the sequel. These books have spurred some wonderful discussions!

I don't know why my comments haven't been telling you that they're from me. Yes, the previous CotD comment is mine.
