Actually, she may be discribing it accuratly. I am trying to read a second book by the woman so my opinion of her is fair. I'm stuck in the middle of Echo. I would describe it as revolting, which is pretty close to disgusting.

Aha! And why are you reading another one Chrissy? Now it may be to maintain objectivity and a solid basis for judement, but by the time you get to the end it will be for the sheer joys of hatred.

Revolting is such a great word; it's way better than disgusting.

Oh yeah, no they shouldn't ban it (obviously).

And it makes me mad that she's getting free press. Sales always go up when a book gets challenged, damnit.

I've been stuck in the middle of it for about 2 weeks now. I can't bring my self to pick it up again. I keep casting about for an excuse to do something else. When I say revolting, I'm not kidding. The writing in this one has improved but the subject matter is worse. No amount of hatred will make this enjoyable.

Somehow I read three volumes of the abominable Gossip Girl. Only losing my access to bookstore and library is preventing me from reading more.

But there is no way I'm going to see the movie...probably.

I'm so happy to see so many people hate her books too. I bought one and was wondering if I was just a philistine for thinking it's garbage.

And yeah, I suppose banning it wouldn't be nice.

Hooray! Always glad to know that there's someone else on the side of good taste.
