I think I'll never get tired of authors retelling and revamping fairy tales.
This is the story of the Wicked Queen's Magic Mirror. You know, from Snow White?
...
I give up. I'm trying to find a tactful way of putting this. Understand that this reaction is purely personal. I'm not trying to be offensive.
I felt like this book was a bit of a Frying Pan. With a Christian Message. FORGIVE FORGIVE FORGIVE. Also, magic is bad.
I don't mean that it could be offensive that I think the book is a Frying Pan. It just didn't sit well with me. Mostly because I didn't buy the ending. I seem to be the only person on the planet who had this reaction, though. The reviews are great.
"a bit of a Frying Pan"? What does this mean, please?

It means it goes: "WHAM. Message. WHAM. Message. WHAM. Message."
On your head.
What? Doesn't everybody say that?

I was thinking 'out of the frying pan into the fire' not being hit on the head...and was confused. Now it makes sense.
