Just now, I was checking in some audio books for an older patron. I asked her how she liked them.
Patron: Well, this one was good, but the cover is all wrong.
Me: Oh?
Patron: Yes -- the woman on the cover is BLACK. The woman in the story isn't black, she's COLORED.
Me: ... ... ... ... Oh.
There aren't many people who are able to leave me speechless. This lady does it consistantly, on an almost weekly basis. I'm starting to think it's deliberate.
eep - how scary!
oh but what a great book!

Yeah. She liked the book, so that's something.
But MAN, she's a real piece of work.

It's a very subtle distinction and you were in the presence of an expert.

Wow. Just... wow.

I had a woman today think there was some kind of conspiracy because an ad for a cemetary group (I have no idea what this is) was in the obituary section. She had been looking for the ad. She freaked out about it. I stood by mentally shaking my head.

There's a residental community for retirees close by that's called Logan's Run. Every time I see the ad in the paper I crack up.

Logan's Run? I don't care who you are, that's just funny. Reminds me of an episode of Family Guy.
