Mel Gibson now owns the movie rights to Libba Bray's soon-to-be-trilogy.
From Libba Bray's Livejournal:
Still, It doesn't quite seem real to me, somehow. I feel a little like Sissy Spacek getting ready for the prom while her crazy mom yells, "They're all gonna laugh at you!" in the background. Yeah, just waiting for that pig's blood to fall. (No, really, it makes sense in my head. Go with me.)
Yikes, of all the people... I have a very bad feeling about what Mel Gibson will do to a story whose morals are so opposite his own.

After the news today I'm wondering how the author feels about Mel Gibson optioning the movie rights. Bleah.

Right? I admit it: Due to my shriveled little cold black heart, I laughed like a maniac when I read the article.
But then I thought of Libba Bray and got depressed.

Yeah, I'm begining to wonder if Mel is going down the crazy trail alongside Tom Cruise...

From what I've read (and granted, a lot of it is on gossip sites and message boards, so take it with a grain of salt), he's been on the crazy trail for a long, long time.
