A Series of Unfortunate Events wraps up today.
Who's already read it?
Not me. I have my copy, but I have to read books two through twelve first, THEN The Beatrice Letters, THEN, finally, The End.
I'm a huge loser.

Och, not as big a loser as ME, who actually watched (with horror, and with younger siblings in tow, so I have an EXCUSE [kind of])the MOVIE before reading ANY of the books and who STILL has quite a few of the books yet to go. BIG loserdom.

I keep stalling because the last time I tried to read Book Two, I threw it across the room because it was so annoying.
And everyone tells me to just skip to Six and go from there, but I CAN'T do it. I have that horrible Must Read in Order gene.
So glad to know I'm not the only loser out there.

Leila: I think you can read One and The End. Then find a kid to fill you in on 2-12.
Or: Maybe you can do a new series of reviews, like your Nancy Drew. (I love those reviews)

I was going to read all of them before the 13th because the publisher kept sending us these SUPER cool displays and pencils and such. But I actually think that they are not very good. I got to the fifth book and just couldn't do it anymore.
:( I am using my Lemony pencil right now and am sad that they didn't work their magic for me. All fo the Snicket atmosphere is so tempting.

Wow. I found all 13 books wonderful. And The Beatrice Letters. And even the Unauthorized Autobiography of Lemony Snicket had its moments.
I don't know what it is, but I just crack up at how this guy writes. His metaphors and definitions are just-my-kind-of-bizarre.
Anyhow, I did read 13 today, and while it was not my absolute favorite in the series, it was consistent with all the others, which is what I was looking for. I threw a couple of quotes up on the blog.
