From MauJo's blog (Via ASIF!):
YOWZA! This is the most badass I have ever felt! I think . . . I think I like it!
No moral fiber? Really? I beg to differ. The book is entirely about what happens to friendships when relationships enter the picture. That is, in fact, the whole book. Since there is no sex in it (just some kissing), pregnancy is not really an issue. I would have brought it up if there had been. Maybe the writer of this letter does not know how babies are made. She could probably use a book on the subject.
Don't miss this post, kids.
Nice link! One book/page can elicit so many opinions. I guess a writer can never expect everyone to share the same view as all kinds of opinions exist(particularly the bad ones).

And.... um, not to get all side-tracked but, if the kids are (not) having homosexual sex....um, where does the teen pregnancy even come in?

I agree with cc. Teen pregnancy seems to be a pretty remote possibility in this case (though I haven't read the book). Personally, the whole situation, and especially Maureen's response, makes me WANT to read the book. I hope that it has the same effect on lots of kids.
Thanks for, as always, keeping up with this book banning news. It's important for people to know about it.

The Bermudez Triangle rocks. Maureen Johnson rocks. Banning does NOT rock.

Now there is a petition against the banning and in support of the book. I hope you've signed it!
