One more reason to love Stephen King*.

Success means King's son must finally step forward to claim his inheritance but he's glad to have made it on merit. "Writing as Joe Hill, the goal was to avoid getting special favours or treatment. If I sold a story, I wanted to know that it sold because an editor genuinely liked it and felt it had qualities that would excite a reader," Hill says.

Heart-Shaped Box just won the 2007 Bram Stoker Award for First Novel.

Heart-Shaped Box was a great book although it read more like a movie. Glad it won the award!

It does read like a movie, but a good one. It is also the book I'm apparently never going to finish, even though I'm enjoying it, because - honestly? - it's creeping me out. Like his father's books USED to do.
