I'm going to re-read The Thief.
And I'll be posting about it next Thursday -- so if you feel like re-reading (or reading for the first time!) and chattering about it, feel free to jump in, whether it's in the comments or your own post.
I'm SO looking forward to taking Eugenides home with me.

That's actually a *really* good idea. Aside from the added agony of waiting and all.

Oh god, I just did the first three (for the 800th time) last weekend. Damn, damn, damn.

All three of the Thief books are among my comfort reads, books that I'm always jumping into for a few pages as a pick-me-up. But it's been a while since I've actually sat down and read all three straight through - I'm in!

I hadn't heard there was a new book coming. How exciting! I'll have to re-read too.

You guys are totally ahead of me! I mean, of course I'm planning on re-reading all three, but I'm just re-reading The Thief for next week!
...
Then maybe Queen of Attolia for the week after?

"I'm SO looking forward to taking Eugenides home with me." He's probably my favorite fictional character. I've got my copy of The Thief, but this means I need to track down Queen of Attolia from the friend I loaned it to.

Good plan. I'll be looking forward to the review, because even though I love love love the books, I can't for the life of me remember exactly who Sophos is. (This was probably because I read The Thief just after the birth of my first child. Details like characters' names can get lost in that early-parenthood fog.)
My best memory of the book is how it completely ruined The Thief Lord for me, which I read a few months afterwards. After spending time with Gen, any other character proclaiming him/herself as "the world's greatest thief" makes me get all snarky.
Speaking of which, why are all cocky, intelligent super-thieves in books usually guys?

This is a great idea. I must get my copies back. Seems like many of us have them lent out. I even have two sets! But they're always out finding new converts.

Wow, I feel like I should be doing the same thing! I haven't read that since bookclub (nor did I ever extend into the series). In my future I foresee Theif and company Summer reading...
Good idea :) ;)

I don't know why, but it's as if Megan Whalen Turner doesn't exist in Australia! My libraries' search engines are like "the who now? Megan who? Wha..?" And I've heard such good things about the series on various blogs!

Rhiannon -- she's totally worth a special order, whether it be online or through your local bookstore. The Thief is geared a bit younger than the other two, but all three are SUPERB. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

DUDE(ette). I am so there!
Speaking of which, am I the only one who thinks the title of the new book already proves MWT's awesomeness?
