what age group would you rate this for? I teach grades 7-9 and it sounds like a book that the boys could get into.

SLJ recommends it for grades 8-10. While I felt that the overall tone was actually pretty innocent, Carter is very concerned with his virgin status, and there's some drinking, swearing, and an up the skirt groping scene.

Nothing that students that age haven't encountered before, I'm sure, but I'm also sure that there are probably some adults who'd object to the content.

I loved Carter Finally Gets It. I laughed out loud so many times. When Carter shows off his dancing skills for the musical tryouts I nearly lost it. There were always great moments of growth. I love suggesting this title and I always warn parents about the content. So far no one has a problem with it.

I love Carter Finally Gets It. I've recommended it to lots of teens and adults and it's going on my book talk list. I listened to the CD and was laughing the whole time-great read!

Literature Crazy

I saw that you short-listed this title (which I nominated) for YA fiction in this year's Cybils. Thanks so much for co-enjoying this laugh-out-loud-at-disgustingness book. I'm hoping that TONS more people enjoy this fun read.
