...we discovered that Miss Lemon is one of those cats who goes off adventuring, and then sashays back into the house after putting her humans through 36 hours of panic and depression.
She skipped two meals!
I really thought she'd gotten into a fight with a coyote.
Of which there are many behind our house.
Ag.
Anyway. All is well, now, until she does it again.
Which you know she will.
Just wait 'til she comes back with her mascara all smeared, smelling of cheap booze and Axe, and wearing combat boots and ripped tights. Kids. They grow up just SO darned fast...

Awww, our old family cat once went missing for two weeks. One lady in the village had loads of cats and went on holiday leaving a friend to stop by and feed them. Our cat had snuck inside and was happily eating their food with the poor woman not realising he wasn't meant to be there!

I completely understand. My dog--who had NEVER missed a meal before in his life--ran off for TWENTY-SIX days. We'd well and truly given up...and then he strolls back into the yard, calm as can be, just wagging his tail like nothing ever happened!

I feel your pain! If I don't see a cat for a day or two, I panic! We also live on a busy stretch of 201 and they LOVE to cross the road...never mind the acres of land behind us...and have lost more cats then I care to mention due to this craving to cross the road.

I feel your pain! My dog likes to go exploring in the neighbourhood. Luckily, he always meets nice people who take him to my vet or call the 1-800 number on his tag. I THINK we've now found all the holes in the fence, but I worry!
