...this has people amazed/horrified/shaking heads: a guest post on the Story Siren's blog... about the evils of plagiarism.
Need some history? Have a blast.
UPDATE: According to these tweets, it's the first post in a week-long series on plagiarism.
UPDATE 2: As explained here. (Not sure why the introductory post went up so much later than the Sarah Cross post, though.)
UPDATE 3: Smart Bitches with a round-up and commentary. And GOOD GOD, if you haven't read this post, YOU MUST.
Oh the irony!

Weirdest. Thing. Ever.

Okay, kudos to her for trying to do something positive in the aftermath of this situation. HOWEVER, she still seems to be writing/talking as though an alien took over her body and plagarized, rather than saying, "Look, I made this decision, it was wrong, I apologize."

Yeah, and a heartfelt apology--and an invite to take part in this "week of education"--to the ladies at Beautifully Invisible and Grit and Glamour would have been nice, too.
ETA: Some sort of acknowledgement of the nasty victim-blaming that went down would also have been good.

I am still waiting to hear about her book deal. I don't expect it to be about this subject but whatever she had written before this shit hit the fan (heck it could be a novel for all I know). All of this - ALL OF THIS - smells of damage control at the advice of an agent. (Not that there's anything wrong with that.) We're going to hear about it soon, mark my words....
