Argh. Yes, I was teary-eyed when looking at it too, but only because my gorge rose.
Oh, and yes, I do wish the couple happy. Much happier than I wished the Boy who killed the Tree.

Not really the book I'd associate with happily ever after, or functional relationships. I think Shel would agree, though, to live and let live.
