Here, I catch you up last season and a half: lots of stupid confusing stuff about an astronaut and River Song ended up signifying nothing, blah blah, dinosaurs, westerns, angels, and the Ponds are gone.
I'm with Diana. I'm only hanging on because I'm hoping something good will actually come out of the 50th Anniversary year, but God this show makes me tired. And yeah, the Neil Gaiman one was good. But I am sadly now in the position of having gone from "wow, I think Matt Smith is going to be great" to "Wow, I didn't think it was possible to hate the Doctor this much." I am sad.
Kitty, tell me more. Most of my friends have either given up entirely before Matt came along or they are dedicated fans and can't understand while I have a problem. I have one friend who is watching the first season of 11 now, is a former actor, and HATES matt's portrayal. I don't know much about acting, and have been blaming the nonsensical storytelling for all of my issues, but my one friend is telling me that it's Matt refusing to make decisions about things.
But how can you make a decision if they spend an entire season setting up something which they then throw carelessly out of the window?
Not a fan of Matt Smith at all. Not even a little. Or, by extention, the direction Steven Moffat has taken the series. I miss me some over-the-top-but-extremely-lovable David Tennant.

The Neil Gaiman ep was good, though.
